Kim keen on further outings in Asia next season

2025-11-08

Anthony Kim’s LIV Golf dream may be over, but the American is eager to play on The International Series next season as he continues his return in the professional game after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The former US 2008 Ryder Cup star was a shock pick as a non-affiliate wild card for LIV Golf in 2024, and although he has struggled for form after his 12-year break from the game, the 40-year-old is still a huge draw around the world and has shown signs of the quality golf he was known for.

Kim was relegated at the end of the season after finishing in the Drop Zone, with a season-best T25 at LIV Golf Dallas and T29 at LIV Golf Miami. The three-time US PGA winner has been on the road with The International Series since the LIV Golf League concluded, and after making the cut this week at the Moutai Singapore Open, he sits on seven under after three rounds, eight off the lead.

The future looks relatively bright for Kim, whose form appears to have improved throughout the season. And after The International Series season ends with the PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers, Kim is committed to the LIV Golf Promotions event in January, where a number of in-form International Series players will be battling it out for two additional places on the 2026 roster to accompany the two that will go to the two players at the top of the rankings.

He said: “This is something I am looking forward to and yes, regardless, I am going to play for a few more years. I do not know how long I want to play golf for, but this is something I am committed to. I am motivated to play as good as I can, work as hard as I can, and you know, the results will speak for themselves.

“I am going to play some events (on The International Series and Asian Tour). But it is a long way over here. So as much as I want to compete, you know, part of my comeback to golf is being with my family. And it is a lot of trouble for the family, so we will pick some events to play.”

Kim has made the cut in three of the last four appearances on The International Series, and he feels he is improving all the time.

He said: “Overall, my ball striking has gotten a lot better. I finally am doing the stuff I practice at home out here on the golf course, and I just got to get a few more putts to fall, and things will change pretty quickly.”

Referring to the support he receives from fans on The International Series and worldwide, he added: “It inspires me, for sure, absolutely it does. You know, this has been a long journey. The last two years have been pretty tough. I was getting my teeth kicked in every week, coming to LIV Golf and playing without having much practice. But I have been working hard. Obviously, it is a disappointment (to be relegated) but I am more motivated than ever to keep doing well."
