Everything to play for as The International Series confirms two golden tickets to LIV Golf League

2025-11-03

With two tournaments left to play, The International Series 2025 campaign has taken on added significance, with LIV Golf announcing that the top two eligible players on The International Series Rankings will receive life-changing spots on the 2026 LIV Golf League roster.

This week’s Moutai Singapore Open at the Singapore Island Country Club from 6 to 9 November, and the season-finale, the PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers from 19 to 22 November at the Riyadh Golf Club, are the last chance for players to gain invaluable rankings points.

"This is an extremely positive development for our members and firmly cements our partnership with LIV Golf. The extra spot is a phenomenal opportunity for our members to rise to one of the pinnacle platforms in our game and there is no doubt that the top two positions will be fiercely contested over the next two events,” said Cho Minn Thant, Commissioner & CEO, Asian Tour.

Rahul Singh, Head of The International Series, said: “We offer a proven, open pathway onto the LIV Golf League and with this season’s route offering not one but two opportunities to progress, there is a real life-changing opportunity for the players to grasp.

“The International Series is committed to presenting the players with opportunity, be it the pathway to LIV Golf or the chance to face up against world-class players. We also provide local elite talent in each of our destinations with the opportunity to compete against proven champions. Recent results - where Asian Tour players have triumphed, is clear evidence of the wealth of talent in the region that is enhanced by the opportunities of The International Series.”

The announcement comes in a season which has seen the Series grow in stature, with two tournaments also offering a direct pathway to Major Championships.

International Series Macau presented by Wynn provided three places at the 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush in July, while last week’s Link Hong Kong Open offered the champion a place in the field for The Masters tournament at Augusta National from 9-12 April and the 154th Open Championship at Royal Birkdale from 16-19 July.

It has been a groundbreaking fourth season for The International Series with a wealth of new tournaments taking place in different established and emerging golfing markets around the region.

The season kicked off with a first visit to Delhi for International Series India presented by DLF, and following a return to the Greater Bay Area for the second edition of International Series Macau presented by Wynn, the Series then moved to Tokyo and another new territory for International Series Japan presented by Moutai.

International Series Morocco, a firm player favourite, then returned to the schedule before two more new tournaments: the Jakarta International Championship and International Series Philippines presented by BingoPlus.

Following the Link Hong Kong Open, the Moutai Singapore Open reintroduces the national open back to the calendar on the Asian Tour where it is headquartered. The season will round off with the US$5million PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers, the richest event on The International Series.

Aside from the new tournaments, the Series has also benefitted from a commitment by more big-name players than ever before.

The presence of proven major champions including Bryson DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Charl Schwartzel, Louis Oosthuizen, and Martin Kaymer as well as in-form LIV Golf champions such as Joaquin Niemann and Talor Gooch has provided the Asian Tour players with quality opposition to test and benchmark themselves against.

Ollie Schneiderjans of the U.S. won emphatically in India while Australian Wade Ormsby and hometown hero Miguel Tabuena of the Philippines triumphed in Jakarta and Manila.

Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent, who enjoyed two seasons on LIV Golf after taking the pathway as 2022 International Series Rankings champion, showed his commitment to return to the LIV Golf League with a stunning victory in Morocco and a runner-up finish in Jakarta after a sudden death play-off with Ormsby.

LIV Golf player Tom McKibbin of Northern Ireland recorded a runaway wire-to-wire victory at the Link Hong Kong Open on the weekend to secure a place in The Open and Masters Tournament next year.

Following the result in Hong Kong, Vincent and Tabuena occupy the all-important top spots on the rankings race with Ormsby in fourth place. Kazuki Higa of Japan and Danthai Boonma of Thailand are the nearest challengers in ninth and 10th place, with the remaining places on the top 10 all occupied by LIV Golf stars.

Vincent and Andy Ogletree both progressed to LIV Golf through The International Series Rankings, while Kieran Vincent, Scott’s younger brother, Jinichiro Kozuma (Japan), and Kalle Samooja (Finland) all earned a place through the LIV Golf Promotions event in 2023. Lee Chieh-Po (Taiwan) followed a similar route in 2024.
