2025 Singapore Open champion leads star-studded lineup on home turf as Rankings race to the 2027 LIV Golf League begins

Yosuke Asaji, one of the latest graduates of The International Series pathway to elite golf, returns to home soil as the Asian Tour’s set of marquee events start their 2026 schedule at Chiba’s Caledonian Golf Club from 2-5 April.

International Series Japan will boast stars from the LIV Golf League, Asian Tour and Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO), all vying for the US$2million prize fund while taking a first step to qualifying for the 2027 LIV Golf League itself.

Asaji will be joined by two-time winner on The International Series  and RangeGoats GC standout Peter Uihlein from the United States, 2026 LIV Golf Promotions winner and current Wild Card Canadian Richard T. Lee, and Miguel Tabuena from the Philippines, the International Series Philippines presented by BingoPlus champion and newly promoted full-time LIV Golf player, alongside 10-time JGTO winner Japan’s Shugo Imahira and 2024 Asia-Pacific Amateur champion Wenyi Ding from China.

Fresh from earning his full-season LIV Golf card at the end of last year, the 32-year-old Asaji has already made a strong start, recording a T17 at LIV Golf Riyadh and T24 at LIV Golf Adelaide. Now, the reigning Singapore Open winner and runner-up on  The International Series Rankings last year  will return to headline the event on the Series that propelled him onto the global stage.

“Events of this calibre don’t come around often in Japan, so to have The International Series back at Caledonian Golf Club is something I’m really proud of,” said the Tokyo-born Asaji.

He is joined by Uihlein, one of the most decorated LIV players in The International Series history, who arrives in red-hot form after back-to-back third-place finishes in Riyadh and Adelaide.

Lee, the 2024 BNI Indonesian Masters champion, adds further firepower to the field after securing his 2026 LIV Golf card with a commanding display at LIV Golf Promotions earlier this year to become the first Canadian on the League.

Also teeing up at Caledonian Golf Club is Tabuena, back in action at The International Series following a stellar campaign last year. The Filipino star captured his maiden International Series title on home soil before finishing third in the 2025 Rankings, a breakthrough season that helped secure his full LIV Golf League status.

Imahira returns to International Series Japan after finishing T9 at last year’s inaugural edition. A 10-time JGTO winner, the 33-year-old brings experience and consistency against world-class fields.

Adding further intrigue is rising Chinese talent Ding, who turned professional after claiming the 2024 Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship. The young star announced himself on the Asian Tour at last year’s Link Hong Kong Open, finishing T6 in a field stacked with LIV Golf players.

International Series Japan returns to Caledonian Golf Club for a second straight year, reinforcing its status as one of Japan’s standout championship venues. Set in rolling, wooded terrain in Chiba, the course presents a refined and demanding test, one that rewards precision and patience.
