4Aces GC star Thomas Pieters has echoed skipper Dustin Johnson’s enthusiasm for The International Series after impressing in the first round of the Moutai Singapore Open, his second appearance in two weeks on the elevated set of Asian Tour events.
The former Ryder Cup star is well placed on four under at Singapore Island Country Club, four off clubhouse leader Jeunghun Wang of Korea in the penultimate event of the 2025 campaign.
Last week he managed a top-10 finish at the Link Hong Kong Open, won by Legion XIII rival Tom McKibbin, while his captain Johnson, a former world No.1, finished T15 at International Series Philippines presented by BingoPlus in the first event of a three-week swing.

The Belgian also impressed last season, trending upwards in his three appearances with a 17th-place finish in England, a 13th in Qatar and a T9 at the PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers.
Echoing the sentiments of Johnson, Pieters has expressed a growing interest in returning to play more of the events which regularly pit the best of the Asian Tour against LIV Golf stars and rising talent from around the world.
He said: “I think this is actually the first time I’ve had back-to-back International Series events,” Pieters said with a smile. “It’s great to be out here - these events are so well-run and offer something different for us as players.
“It’s fantastic for the International Series when guys from LIV play these events,” Pieters added. “You saw it last week — there were 29 LIV players in the field."
The International Series has been offering a pathway to LIV Golf since 2022, and two golden tickets will be up for grabs to the Rankings leaders at the end of the 2025 campaign, with another two available to top-performers in the season-long race via the LIV Golf Promotions event in January.
"It’s great for the Asian Tour players to compete against us, and for us to play against them. It really elevates the field and creates a buzz everywhere these events go. The Philippines event looked amazing on TV.
“I’d love to play more if it fits the schedule,” he said. “These tournaments are great — world-class courses, international crowds, and a strong field every time. I really enjoy playing them.”

Ranked 19th overall on the LIV Golf League this season, Pieters has enjoyed a strong run of form, including top-four finishes in Korea and Virginia, top-eight results in Chicago and Indianapolis, and top-20 performances in four additional events. In contrast, he finished 30th last season playing for the RangeGoats GC.
Pieters credits the 4Aces GC team chemistry, and his captain’s character, for his rise in form. He said: “Like you said, DJ is a lot more laid-back - and so am I - so our personalities match really well. Somehow, he brings out the best in me. And having Patrick Reed on the team helps too - he really pushes you to practice hard and stay sharp. It’s been a very positive switch for me overall.
"I’ve just been much more consistent. There’s a stronger sense of camaraderie and positivity within the team, and that’s exactly what you need to perform well,” he added.
When asked if the team would consider more appearances going forward, Pieters joked: "DJ definitely should’ve played last week in Hong Kong — I’ll try to convince him next time!”
The International Series is the most prized pathway in golf. It consists of a set of elite tournaments sanctioned by the Asian Tour and offers the year-long Rankings Winner & Runner-Up promotion to the LIV Golf League.
