Confident Kieran chasing second Vincent victory on the spin to reignite his International Series challenge

2025-09-30

Former LIV Golf star Kieran Vincent is hoping that a back-to-back family double on The International Series will help his quest for a return to the big league as he plots victory at the Jakarta International Championship this week.

The Indonesia event, which takes place at the Damai Indah Golf PIK Course in Jakarta from Thursday, gets the second half of The International Series season underway. The tournament, a new addition to the schedule, sparks a frantic run in of five elite level events in eight weeks that will ultimately deliver the end-of-season Rankings champion - and a new addition to the LIV Golf League for the 2026 season.

It is the first tournament on the elevated series of Asian Tour events since Kieran's brother Scott roared to victory at International Series Morocco.

That impressive four-shot victory reignited elder brother Scott’s chances of a quickfire return to LIV Golf just a year after losing his place on the Iron Heads GC team at the end of the 2024 season. That relegation came after two impressive seasons where the 2022 International Series England champion regularly showed he was comfortable among the world-class opposition competing on the LIV Golf League.

Kieran, who played for Jon Rahm's Legion XIII in the 2024 season after claiming his place through the 2023 LIV Golf Promotions event, said: "Seeing my brother win in Morocco was really special. I was rooting for him all week, and I know how hard he works.

“I joked that I’m not sure what they were feeding him over there, but it clearly worked. It motivates me even more – hopefully I can follow that up with something big of my own before the season ends.”

With a T14 at International Series Macau presented by Wynn and a T12 at International Series Japan presented by Moutai as his highlights so far this season, 27-year-old Kieran is currently 32nd on the Rankings and raring to go in the second half of the campaign, with big brother Scott up in second, behind Lucas Herbert of the Ripper GC LIV Golf team.

He said: "Feeling good - it feels nice to be back. It’s a little hot, but that’s expected here in Indonesia. It’s good to get the juices flowing again and compete.

“Entering the second half of the season, there’s a lot at stake with plenty of points up for grabs, so it’s exciting to come in knowing there’s a lot to achieve.”

Vincent is under no illusions as he prepares for a tough run in that includes stiff competition among an all-star field at the brand new International Series Philippines presented by BingoPlus, where former world No.1 Dustin Johnson has just joined four other former Major winners in Bubba Watson, Patrick Reed, Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen.

Similarly, a host of big names have been attracted to the Link Hong Kong Open, which now offers a qualifying place for The Open and Masters championship in 2026. The Moutai Singapore Open, another national Open on the schedule, has also generated interest among the LIV Golf stars and Asian Tour high-flyers.

The season-ending, big-money PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers is another Asian Tour flagship tournament that regularly attracts a strong LIV Golf contingent.

Looking ahead, the 2023 International Series Vietnam champion Vincent said: “Right now, my focus is on Jakarta – I’m really excited to be here and take it one week at a time. After this, there are plenty of incredible destinations coming up, so I’m looking forward to each event as it comes.

"With Hong Kong now offering a direct pathway into the Masters and The Open, it’s going to be huge. That kind of opportunity is going to attract top talent, and rightly so – one great week could completely change the trajectory of someone’s career. I’m sure that event is already circled on everyone’s calendar as a must-play.

"For me, the key is putting in the work now, staying in a good headspace, and being ready when those moments come. It’s going to be an exciting one, and I can’t wait to see how it plays out."
