Family bonds were on full display as round one of the inaugural Jakarta International Championship wrapped up at Damai Indah Golf’s PIK Course, with both the Vincent and Schniederjans brothers making their mark on The International Series stage.
Younger siblings Kieran Vincent and Luke Schniederjans set the tone, each carding impressive three-under rounds to put pressure on their more experienced brothers, Scott Vincent and Ollie Schniederjans - both of whom openly admit they are fans of their younger brothers’ games.

For the Vincents, this week is another chapter in a journey they’ve shared for several years. Scott, the elder of the two, praised Kieran’s growth: “For me, I’m a big fan of my brother and his golf.
“Being a little older, I try to share my experience and help him when I can—though sometimes it depends on whether he wants to hear it or figure it out himself. He’s got so much talent and potential, and I’m excited to see where it goes. It’s also a lot of fun traveling and playing alongside him.”
Kieran, who fired a bogey-free 67 after teeing off in the morning session of a rain-affected day, reflected on life on tour with his brother. He said: “We’ve probably been on tour together a little too long now! Brothers can only handle each other so much. We actually didn’t spend much time together growing up - the five-year gap meant we often missed each other at different stages.
“So now we’re making up for it on tour. We share a lot of ideas, and we both love food, so we spend plenty of time eating. He even looks after details like making sure I get to the right hotel. It has been really cool. Now that we have Schniederjans brother joining tournaments maybe we’ll have to do a ‘brothers showdown’ with them sometime in the future.”
Kieran also reflected on a moment that defined his journey with Scott: “One that stands out was back in 2022 when I first started out. I didn’t have much money, and my brother secretly paid my Asian Tour affiliate fee.
My bag didn’t even arrive on time, I rushed straight from the airport to the course and needed to make par on the last hole to finish fifth. I did it, and only later found out Scott had paid my fee, which kept my season alive. Without that, I wouldn’t have been able to play.
“Moments like that mean a lot. Later, for us to both be on the LIV Golf League and play alongside each other was incredible. We’d love to have that chance again.”
Asked whether he shares Scott’s admiration, Kieran laughed: “Am I a fan of his game? No, absolutely not! But seriously, he works really hard, and I admire that. Honestly, I admire him more off the course than on it. I do wish he hit it a little further, but that’s okay.”
The Schniederjans brothers mirrored the storyline, with younger sibling Luke delivering a standout debut in The International Series. His six birdies offset three bogeys to post a three-under 67, one better than Ollie, who signed for a two-under 68.

Luke described what it meant to finally compete alongside his older brother: “It’s the best. We live together, so traveling and preparing for tournaments together is way more fun than doing it alone. He feels the same way—it’s just great having each other out here.”
On watching Ollie’s earlier success this season at International Series India presented by DLF, Luke added: “It was incredible to watch. We’re a very close family, so seeing him come back and win after a long stretch away was one of the coolest things I’ve experienced in golf - even though I wasn’t playing. It was inspiring, and he’s set himself up for a great year.”
Ollie is just as bullish about Luke’s potential: “Luke is five years younger than me, the same age gap as Scott and Kieran, so I can relate to everything Scott said about his brother. I genuinely believe Luke is a very talented golfer with huge potential, and I’m a big believer in his game.”
“We talk a lot about golf, and I even learn from him at times. I try to share my experiences so he doesn’t have to take as long figuring things out as I did. He might pretend not to listen, but later he’ll bring something up and I’ll realize he actually took it in.”
The International Series is the most prized pathway in golf. It consists of a set of elite tournaments sanctioned by the Asian Tour and offers the year-long Rankings Winner & Runner-Up promotion to the LIV Golf League.
