Danthai Boonma is set to make an impressive debut at this year’s LIV Golf Promotions event, earning direct exemption into Round 2 as one of the top players on the International Series Rankings, alongside fellow Thai standouts, 2022 International Series Morocco winner Jazz Janewattananond, and 2025 Mercuries Taiwan Masters champion Rattanon Wannasrichan.
The achievement caps a strong International Series campaign for Boonma, who climbed to 11th on the Rankings after a consistent run of form highlighted by a runner-up finish at the International Series Morocco, the highest placement among Thai players this season and a result that secured his place directly into the second stage of Promotions.

Speaking ahead of the week, Boonma admitted the moment carries special significance as he prepares to tee it up far from home, with the opportunity of a lifetime on the line.
“It means a lot to me. This is the first time I’ve qualified directly into LIV Golf Promotions, so it feels very special,” Boonma said. “I’m a long way from home, but I’m really excited to be here and to have this opportunity.”
After getting his first competitive looks at the course earlier this week, the four-time Thailand Golf Tour winner is clear on what will be required.
“The course is in great condition,” he said. “But the back nine is tricky, especially the greens. You really need to put the ball in the right positions, if you’re not on the correct side, putting becomes very difficult.”
With three LIV Golf League cards available this year, Boonma knows the stakes are high but remains grounded.
“Of course it helps knowing there are three spots,” he said. “But at the end of the day, you still have to stay focused and play good golf. If I can get in, it would be life-changing.”
More experienced on this stage, Janewattananond returns for his third LIV Golf Promotions appearance buoyed by a strong 2025 campaign, where he finished 17th on the International Series Rankings. His season was underscored by a run of steady, high‑level results, including a tied-sixth finish at the Moutai Singapore Open and a tied-eighth at the International Series Macau presented by Wynn.

For the former Asian Tour Order of Merit winner, earning exemption into Round 2 was a key objective.
“It’s been a year-long goal to put myself in this position,” Janewattananond said. “The first stage is one of the hardest cuts in golf, 63 players for 20 spots. Finishing high enough on The International Series to skip that was already a big win, and there was no way I could turn this opportunity down.”
The expansion to three LIV cards has also shifted the competitive landscape.
“Last year it was one spot, you were playing to win, and that was it,” he said. “With three spots now, it feels more realistic. If you have one really good week, it’s doable.”
Despite the strength of the field, Janewattananond’s focus remains inward.
“I try not to judge the field,” he said. “I just look at where my game is at. I’ve been trending upward, finished last year on a positive note, and I’m hoping everything comes together this week.”
Preparation, he says, has matched the importance of the moment.
“This feels like a major for me,” he added. “Other weeks you’re thinking about making the cut first. This week is simple, if you don’t finish top three, there’s no point. I’m putting all my focus and energy into this event.”
Completing the Thai trio is Rattanon Wannasrichan, whose consistent performances in 2025 included a tied-third finish at the Moutai Singapore Open alongside victory at the Mercuries Taiwan Masters on the Asian Tour, earning him exemption into Round 2 and further reinforcing Thailand’s growing influence on The International Series.

Beyond the three LIV Golf cards, the event also offers top-10 finishers status on The International Series for 2026, a pathway Janewattananond believes is vital for global talent.
“Those spots are huge,” he said. “Even if you don’t earn a LIV card, getting International Series status opens doors. It gives players a real platform to build from, and that’s incredibly important.”
The International Series is the most prized pathway in golf. It consists of a set of elite tournaments sanctioned by the Asian Tour and offers the year-long Rankings Winner & Runner-Up promotion to the LIV Golf League.
