Earlier this year, two-time European Tour winner Lucas Bjerregaard admitted the thought of walking away from professional golf had crossed his mind.
Instead, a strong performance at LIV Golf Promotions has given the Dane renewed belief and a fresh opportunity through The International Series, where he is looking to rebuild momentum and work his way back towards the top of the game.

The 34-year-old secured his place on the 2026 International Series schedule with a tied-fourth finish at LIV Golf Promotions at Black Diamond Ranch, Florida, in January, opening the door to a season of elevated events on the Asian Tour and the chance to compete regularly once again.
Bjerregaard's résumé already includes victories at the 2017 Portugal Masters and the 2018 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews, as well as a memorable victory over Tiger Woods at the 2019 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. Having once climbed inside the world's top 50, he now sees The International Series as an ideal platform to rediscover his best golf.
The recent International Series Morocco presented by Visit Morocco marked his second start of the season, following his debut at International Series Japan after he was forced to miss the Singapore stop due to family circumstances.
“I love Singapore and really wanted to play at the Singapore Open, but unfortunately my son broke his arm, and I had to stay home, so it’s great to be back on The International Series for the third event this year,” said Bjerregaard.
During tournament week in Morocco, Bjerregaard also spoke warmly about returning to Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, a venue he had not visited for several years.
“It’s great. There are obviously a lot of talented players I don’t know, but also a lot of players I haven’t seen for a few years, so that’s nice,” he said. “I love this course, I’ve played here a couple of times before, but a long time ago, so it’s nice to be back.”

Bjerregaard made an encouraging start in Rabat, opening with a four-under-par 68 to sit inside the top 10 after the first round and reminding himself of the level he is capable of producing.
Although he was unable to maintain that early momentum through the weekend, the week still represented another important step in his comeback journey. Bjerregaard will take positives from another week on The International Series as he heads back to Europe for the summer before targeting further starts later in the season.
