Current International Series Rankings leader Travis Smyth became the first player in LIV Golf League history to celebrate victories with two different teams in the same season after helping Ripper GC claim the title at LIV Golf UK presented by JCB last week.
The Australian has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign since claiming the biggest victory of his career at International Series Japan in April. That maiden International Series title propelled Smyth to the top of both The International Series Rankings and the Asian Tour Order of Merit, while also creating opportunities to compete on the LIV Golf League.
His first LIV Golf appearance of the season came with Crushers GC in Korea, where he stepped in for Paul Casey, finished tied eighth individually and helped the team secure victory.
Last week, Smyth was once again called upon, this time joining Ripper GC as a replacement for Elvis Smylie. Powered by a commanding individual victory from fellow Australian Lucas Herbert, the all-Australian team secured the title, giving Smyth his second LIV Golf team win of the season, and his first alongside his compatriots.
Reflecting on the achievement, Smyth admitted the latest victory carried extra significance.
"A win is a win. I'll take any of them," he said.
"I don't want to say which one is better, but politely speaking, this one is better. I'm with Australians here and this is where my heart is."
With the victory, Smyth becomes just the fourth player in LIV Golf League history to celebrate wins with different teams, joining Talor Gooch, Peter Uihlein and David Puig.
