Korean GC captain Byeong Hun An is channelling the fierce, fearless spirit of the “White Tiger”, a guardian symbol of strength and courage from Korean tradition, as he makes his maiden appearance at International Series Morocco presented by Visit Morocco, alongside teammates Song Younghan and Doyeob Mun.

The youngest-ever U.S. Amateur Champion and two-time DP World Tour winner opened with a testing 74 at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam before producing a composed response in round two, firing a three-under-par 69 to move safely into the weekend.
His recovery has come playing amongst a stacked field featuring 18 LIV Golf players, with Bubba Watson leading the way at 11-under after 36 holes. Song remains firmly in contention at 10-under, just one shot off the pace, while Mun sits at four-under heading into the weekend.
For the 2015 BMW PGA Championship winner, the week has already underlined the strength and depth of competition on The International Series, which continues to help players gain recognition and further grow the game of professional golf.
“I think it’s a great opportunity,” said An. “There are a lot of excellent players out here, as you can see. Last year, for example, Scott Vincent had a great season and got promoted, which shows the quality of the field. It’s a really strong opportunity for Asian Tour players to get recognised, and hopefully for Korean players as well. I’d love to see more Koreans competing in The International Series and earning a chance to move on to LIV Golf.”
Now fully settled into his role as captain of Korean GC on LIV Golf, An has embraced both the responsibility and the opportunity that comes with representing Korean golf on a global stage, competing at the highest level while helping open doors for the next generation.
“It’s been amazing,” he said. “That’s always been something I’ve wanted to do, continue playing while also helping create more opportunities, especially in Korea. There are so many talented golfers there, and I’d love to see more of them come through, whether that’s joining my team or making it onto LIV Golf. I want to keep the team strong and performing well while opening doors for the next generation.”

That identity is also deeply rooted in Korean GC’s philosophy, with its “White Tiger” emblem symbolising the mindset they aim to carry into competition.
“The white tiger is traditionally seen as a national symbol in Korea,” An explained. “It represents strength and power, which is the mindset we want to bring onto the golf course, playing confidently and trying to dominate. That’s really the inspiration behind the logo and the identity of the team.”
Reflecting on his debut week on The International Series, An said he has quickly felt at home within a familiar Asian Tour environment, especially with strong Korean representation alongside him.
“It’s been great,” he added. “I’ve played all over the world before, mainly in Asia, and I’ve actually been to Morocco a long time ago and have also played on the Asian Tour. So being back here brings a sense of familiarity. It’s great to be here with my teammates as well, and to see them playing so well.”
